Travel for Real
Life is all about “ONLINE” these days. People live more in the virtual world and similar to all other habits, traveling has also become traveling more for online showoff. The online world has made us detached and offline in reality. We are all leading an isolated existence hugging our smartphones. True connection of heart is lost amidst the online connections. People have thousands of friends online but none in reality.
Traveling in today’s world is more about uploading pictures online and getting loads of likes to boost our ego.
Do we really travel these days? I call this ‘Online Travel Syndrome’ where our trips are all about selfies and uploading the same in the internet.
To travel is to love yourself. One of my favourite quotes is “To Travel is to Live” by Hans Christian Andersen.
Travelling makes us connect to our own selves in a way it was never before.
Travel as much as you can and as far as your heart desires. The world is a garden of memorable experiences. We just have to walk around and behold the beauty around us. Sometimes don’t click any pictures of a beautiful place. Just see it with your eyes and preserve it in that way. More often than not we really forget to enjoy a place at present while busy clicking pictures for others. Enjoy and live for yourself before immersing in the online world of Instagram and Facebook to get likes.
There are so many alleys filled with unknown stories, so many seas and lakes that will kiss your feet and innumerable remarkable terrains to welcome you and touch your heart and soul.
My father always tells me, “Rather than only capturing the beauty around you in camera, capture and preserve it in your heart.”
Nature welcomes us to love her, we should also in return, preserve her beauty and protect her from the destruction of the civilized world.
To me, the true meaning of life is to travel to faraway places and suck up the memorable experiences that any new place offer.
Travel alone, travel with your loved ones, life will be wonderful with real connections. There is no best time to travel, don’t plan, just go. Remember as the saying goes, ‘Unplanned trips are always the best, because planned trips never happen’.
I feel that, travelling unleashes the writer in us and make us write beautiful stories of the world. Meeting new people in person and bonding with them is a blessing which most of us have forgotten to cherish these days.
I would end my writing with a suggestion to whoever is reading this – Keep calm, travel the world and write your own book of experiences. Trust me, you will cherish it forever.
